Hector Mujica is a first-generation Venezuelan American and Democratic candidate for the U.S. Senate in Florida. Raised in South Florida by immigrant parents — his father a Christian pastor — he earned a B.A. from Florida International University and a Master's in Public Policy from UC Berkeley, then began his career as a fellow in the U.S. State Department's Economic Section. He spent nearly two decades at Google, most recently as Head of Americas Philanthropy at Google.org, where he directed nearly $1 billion into workforce training, small business growth, and disaster recovery across the Americas, and has served on the boards of the Hispanic Federation, Hispanics in Philanthropy, and the Aspen Institute's Latinos and Society Program.
