Business Leaders Ask Arizona Federal Senate Candidates to Pledge Support for Free and Fair Elections

On August 15, 2024, Leadership Now Arizona asked U.S. Senate candidates Kari Lake and Congressman Ruben Gallego to sign a pledge supporting free and fair elections, based on six key principles.

Congressman Ruben Gallego promptly responded, "As a Marine combat veteran it was an easy decision to sign this pledge. Supporting the rule of law and our right to free and fair elections, regardless of the outcome, is fundamental to our great nation. As elected officials and candidates, it is our responsibility to uphold safe and secure elections and it is a duty I take very seriously.”

In contrast, Kari Lake’s campaign did not respond, raising concerns among Arizona business leaders about her commitment to free and fair elections.

The Federal Candidate Pledge to Respect Elections, backed by over 150 business leaders across the U.S., is a call to uphold democracy and ensure elections remain secure, fair, and accessible. Show your support by signing on to the statement.
