LAUREN BARRA ROURKE | DIRECTOR OF MEMBERSHIP

 
 

Lauren Barra Rourke is the Director of Membership at Leadership Now Project, where she leads efforts to grow, engage, and support a national community of business leaders committed to strengthening American democracy.

Lauren brings more than 15 years of experience across the nonprofit and public policy sectors, with deep expertise in building and scaling mission-driven organizations. Most recently, she served as Vice President of Member Services at WorkMoney, where she helped scale a national organization of over 9 million members and led the launch of its resource center. Since its launch in 2023, the resource center has connected over 1.5M families with nearly $2 billion in government programs and tax credits. 

Previously, Lauren was a manager at The Bridgespan Group, advising philanthropic and nonprofit leaders on strategy and operating model design. She currently serves on the board of the United Way of Northern New Jersey, where she supports the growth of their ALICE program to advocate for working families. 

Lauren was a founding member of Leadership Now Project and is deeply committed to mobilizing business leaders to protect democratic institutions. She holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and graduated with honors from NYU’s Stern School of Business with a BS degree in Finance and Politics. She lives in New Jersey with her husband and two sons.
