In this Election, the Most Important Economic Policy is Upholding Our Democracy and the Rule of Law.
This November’s election will have profound implications for our nation. The contrast between the two tickets and their approach to governing is stark, and only one option will responsibly lead America forward. We are endorsing Kamala Harris for President and Tim Walz for Vice President as the candidates who will ensure a stable environment for businesses to grow and innovate by:
Upholding the Rule of Law: Companies rely on fair and consistent laws that are impartially enforced. Vice President Harris' career as a district attorney, attorney general, and Senator has demonstrated her dedication to our Constitution and the rule of law. Harris-Walz will enable innovation and growth by ensuring a marketplace free from self-dealing, cronyism, and retaliation.
Providing Stable, Principled Leadership: As business leaders, we recognize that leadership is built upon the integrity, trust, and experience of our teams. Most senior officials who served with Trump, including his former Vice President and most of his Cabinet, have withheld endorsements, citing his self-absorption, erratic behavior, and the dangers he poses to national security.
Respecting Elections: In January 2021, President Trump disrupted America’s 250-year tradition of the peaceful transfer of presidential power. He continues to spread falsehoods about stolen elections and refuses to commit to accepting the 2024 outcome. In contrast, Vice President Harris remains steadfast in her commitment to free and fair elections, including the protection of poll workers and election officials.
Protecting Global and Domestic Security: Vice President Harris will maintain our global alliances and ensure the safety of the nation, its citizens, and its businesses both at home and abroad. In contrast, Trump and Vance have threatened to withdraw from global alliances like NATO, have rejected support for allies like Ukraine, and have aligned themselves with dictators.
Trump-Vance Would Cause Chaos and Instability, Posing Significant Risk to America’s Economy and Security
Leadership Now has consistently argued that electing Donald Trump would undermine the fundamental principles of American democracy. President Trump’s attempt to prevent the certification of the 2020 election through violence was a clear and direct attack on those principles. We can be certain that a Trump-Vance administration would not only seek to compromise American elections further, but threaten the independence of our justice system, military, and monetary system, and endanger America’s global alliances.

A Harris-Walz administration will have the opportunity to leverage the strengths of the American economy while addressing the challenges we face. We look forward to partnering with them to build a robust and dynamic economy grounded in democracy. This includes policies such as investing in infrastructure and manufacturing, bolstering innovation and trade, responding to climate change, reforming immigration, and expanding opportunities for all.
While Leadership Now’s members may not fully align with a Harris-Walz administration on every policy issue, we are confident their commitment to democratic principles will allow for constructive engagement and debate.
