Membership Agreement

Thank you for being part of the Leadership Now Project (“Leadership Now”), where business and thought leaders come together to create a thriving democracy. This membership agreement (“Agreement”) lays out the basic terms and conditions that will help you as a member and the organization as a whole achieve our shared mission through collaboration and positive change.

1. PURPOSE:

Leadership Now is a membership organization of business and thought leaders taking action to protect and renew American democracy. We mobilize our members’ influence, expertise, and investment toward high-impact solutions for American democracy. Leadership Now members are the foundation for our action and enable our impact. By joining us, you’re joining a community of like-minded individuals dedicated to making a positive impact on our democracy. Membership means committing to Leadership Now’s principles and appropriately using your:

• Influence by voting and encouraging your networks to vote and by activating your networks or participating in opportunities for direct action
• Investment by contributing your dues and further elevating in Leadership Now Candidates or Portfolio Organizations if possible
• Expertise by learning and educating others through virtual briefings, member quarterly updates, and our annual meeting when possible

2. MEMBERSHIP TERM:

Your membership starts now and will renew on an annual basis, unless terminated earlier in accordance with the terms herein.

3. MEMBERSHIP DUES:

Members agree to pay annual membership dues as outlined by Leadership Now. We will send reminders throughout the year. Failure to pay dues by December 31 may result in suspension or termination of your membership.

4. PARTICIPATION:

Members are expected to actively participate in the activities and initiatives of Leadership Now, which may include attending meetings and events, providing guidance on specific initiatives, and/or contributing to Leadership Now’s mission. We understand schedules can fill up and we encourage members to communicate regularly with the Leadership Now team about how they can best contribute to and participate in this community.

5. CODE OF CONDUCT:

Members are expected to adhere to a code of conduct that promotes respectful and constructive communication with anyone in the Leadership Now community, including other members and the Leadership Now team. Members agree to be thoughtful, responsible, intentional, and professional in their communication and conduct and approach all interactions with an open mind and an awareness of your own context, language, and tone. Any behavior that violates these principles may result in expulsion from Leadership Now. This applies to all means of communication and interaction including but not limited to email, WhatsApp, LinkedIn, the Member Hub, virtual or in-person events, and/or one-on-one meetings.

6. CONFIDENTIALITY:

Members may have access to confidential information related to the Leadership Now’s operations. Confidential information includes information disclosed by Leadership Now to member, or otherwise learned or acquired by member during the period of their membership, including but not limited to, knowledge or information relating to the plans, needs, strategies, political affairs, finances, operations, legal affairs, prospects, research, donor information, contact lists, trade secrets, assets, or other proprietary or politically sensitive information of any kind of Leadership Now. Members agree to maintain the confidentiality of such information and not disclose it to third parties without prior written consent from Leadership Now.

7. REVOCATION OF MEMBERSHIP:

Membership is at will, and we reserve the right to part ways with members who violate our Agreement or engage in conduct detrimental to Leadership Now and our mission and objectives. Termination of membership is at the discretion of the CEO and is immediate upon the date of written notification.

8. AMENDMENTS:

As we grow and evolve, Leadership Now reserves the right to amend this Agreement at any time. Members will be notified of any changes, and continued participation implies acceptance of the amended terms. Additionally, feedback from members is always welcome.

9. GOVERNING LAW:

This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of New York.

10. ACCEPTANCE:

Payment of dues constitutes acceptance of this Agreement.
