Bridget Brink is a sixth-generation Michigander and Democratic candidate for Michigan’s 7th Congressional District in 2026. A Kenyon College graduate with two master’s degrees from the London School of Economics, she spent nearly 30 years in the U.S. Foreign Service, serving as a director on President Obama’s National Security Council and as U.S. Ambassador to Slovakia and then to Ukraine — the first woman to serve as ambassador in a war zone — where she led American efforts during the first three years of Russia’s invasion. She resigned in 2025 over disagreements with the Trump administration’s shift toward Russia and is running on a platform of lowering costs, protecting healthcare, and restoring integrity to government.
