Ami Bera, California

Ami Bera is a Democratic U.S. Representative serving California's 7th Congressional District since 2013 and one of the longest-serving physicians in Congress. A graduate of the University of California, Irvine School of Medicine, he practiced internal medicine and served as Chief Medical Officer for Sacramento County and Associate Dean at UC Davis School of Medicine before entering politics. He serves on the Foreign Affairs Committee, where he is the ranking member, and focuses on global health, bipartisan foreign policy, and expanding healthcare access.
