Sam Liccardo, California

Sam Liccardo is a Democratic U.S. Representative serving California's 16th Congressional District since 2025. A Harvard graduate with a J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center, he served as a federal prosecutor and San Jose City Councilmember before being elected Mayor of San Jose in 2014, where he led the nation's tenth-largest city for two terms, focusing on affordable housing, homelessness, and technology-driven economic development. In Congress he serves on the Science, Space, and Technology Committee and the Education and Workforce Committee, championing innovation policy, housing affordability, and bipartisan problem-solving.
