Bryce Edgmon is the Speaker of the Alaska House of Representatives and the longest-serving current member of the chamber, representing rural District 37 since 2007. Born and raised in Dillingham in a Yup'ik-speaking household, he spent over twenty years as a commercial salmon and herring fisherman in Bristol Bay and chaired the board of Choggiung Ltd., the Alaska Native village corporation for Dillingham. He holds a B.B.A. from the University of Alaska Anchorage and in 2017 became the first Alaska Native to serve as Speaker of the House, leading the country's only tri-partisan governing coalition.
