Jonathan Kreiss-Tomkins, Alaska

Former State Legislator | Fiscal Policy

Jonathan Kreiss-Tomkins, raised in Sitka, attended Yale University before returning to Alaska at 22 to win a seat in the state House, becoming one of the youngest legislators in Alaska's history. He served a decade in the Alaska House of Representatives, where he chaired the State Affairs Committee, sponsored legislation making all twenty Alaska Native languages official state languages, and helped draft a bipartisan long-term fiscal plan. After leaving the Legislature in 2023, he worked for a New York City–based nonprofit implementing federal science and technology policy. His priorities include resolving Alaska's structural budget deficit, investing in education, and restoring bipartisan governance.
