Catelin Drey, Iowa

Catelin Drey is a Democratic member of the Iowa State Senate representing District 01 in Woodbury County since September 2025. She moved to Sioux City to attend Morningside University and works in digital marketing and advertising. She founded Moms for Iowa, a parent-led advocacy organization focused on education funding, childcare, and affordability, and won a closely watched 2025 special election by 11 points in a district Donald Trump carried by 10 — breaking the Republican supermajority in the Iowa Senate and drawing national attention as a sign of shifting political momentum.
