Jack Reed is a Democratic U.S. Senator from Rhode Island, serving since 1997. A West Point graduate who served as an Army Ranger and paratrooper, he earned a J.D. from Harvard Law School and taught at West Point before serving six years in the Rhode Island State Senate and three terms in the U.S. House. In the Senate he chairs the Armed Services Committee and is one of the chamber's leading voices on defense policy, military readiness, and intelligence, while also focusing on education, housing, and financial regulation.
