Sheldon Whitehouse is a Democratic U.S. Senator from Rhode Island, serving since 2007. A Yale University graduate with a J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law, he served as U.S. Attorney for Rhode Island and as the state's Attorney General before entering the Senate. He has delivered over 300 speeches on the Senate floor about the influence of dark money in politics and the impact of climate change, and serves on the Judiciary, Budget, Environment and Public Works, and Finance committees, focusing on climate policy, judicial ethics, campaign finance reform, and corporate accountability.
