Josh Kaul, Wisconsin

Josh Kaul is the Democratic Attorney General of Wisconsin, serving since January 2019 and currently seeking a third term in 2026. He earned a bachelor's degree in history and economics from Yale University and a law degree from Stanford Law School, clerked for a judge on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit, and worked as a federal prosecutor in Baltimore before returning to Wisconsin to practice law and challenge restrictive voting measures in court. As Attorney General, he has prioritized public safety, including efforts to combat the opioid and methamphetamine crises, strengthen gun safety measures, and clear a backlog of untested sexual assault kits.
