Katie Hobbs is the 24th Governor of Arizona, elected in 2022 after serving as Secretary of State during the contentious 2020 election cycle. Born and raised in Arizona, she earned a B.A. and M.S.W. from Northern Arizona University and Arizona State University, then began her career as a social worker helping homeless youth and later running one of the largest domestic violence shelters in the country. She served four terms in the Arizona Legislature including two as Senate Minority Leader before becoming Secretary of State in 2019, and as governor has focused on housing affordability, water security, repealing Arizona's 1864 abortion ban, and expanding economic development.
