Mark Kelly, Arizona

Mark Kelly is a Democratic U.S. Senator from Arizona, first elected in a 2020 special election and reelected in 2022. A retired U.S. Navy Captain and NASA astronaut, he flew combat missions during the Gulf War and completed four Space Shuttle missions, commanding two of them, and holds degrees from the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy and the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School. He co-founded the gun violence prevention organization Giffords with his wife, former Congresswoman Gabby Giffords, and in the Senate serves on the Armed Services and Commerce committees, focusing on border security, veterans’ issues, and aerospace investment.
