Sean Casten is a Democratic U.S. Representative serving Illinois’ 6th Congressional District since 2019. A Middlebury College graduate with an M.S. in Biochemical Engineering from Dartmouth’s Thayer School of Engineering, he spent two decades as a clean energy entrepreneur, co-founding and leading Recycled Energy Development, a company that converted industrial waste energy into clean power. In Congress he serves on the Financial Services Committee and the Science, Space, and Technology Committee, focusing on climate policy, clean energy investment, financial regulation, and science-based policymaking.
