Doug Jones is a former U.S. Senator from Alabama and the federal prosecutor who secured convictions in the 1963 16th Street Baptist Church bombing case, one of the most significant civil rights-era prosecutions in American history. He served as U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Alabama under President Clinton and represented Alabama in the Senate from 2018 to 2021, where he helped shepherd Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson's Supreme Court nomination. He is now running for governor with a platform focused on education investment, workforce development, and expanding economic opportunity across the state.
