Shomari Figures, Alabama

Shomari Figures is a Democratic congressman representing Alabama's 2nd Congressional District since 2025. A University of Alabama law graduate, he served in the Obama White House and the Department of Justice, where he worked on criminal justice sentencing reform that helped free over 1,000 people from unjust sentences under outdated crack cocaine laws. He also drafted voting rights legislation as legal counsel in the U.S. Senate and now serves on the House Agriculture Committee, focusing on wages, healthcare access, and rural economic development.
