Jamie Ager, North Carolina

Farmer | Economic Development

Jamie Ager is a Democratic candidate for North Carolina's 11th Congressional District in 2026. A fifth-generation farmer from Fairview, he graduated from Warren Wilson College with degrees in Environmental Studies and History and built Hickory Nut Gap Farm into a sustainable meat company with 25 employees that partners with dozens of regional farmers. His family has deep roots in public service — his grandfather served in the U.S. Congress and state legislature, and his brother currently serves in the North Carolina House. He won the 2026 Democratic primary running on a platform of rural economic development, agricultural policy, affordability, and Hurricane Helene recovery for western North Carolina.
