Roy Cooper, North Carolina

Roy Cooper served as North Carolina’s 75th Governor from 2017 to 2025, where he led efforts to expand healthcare, strengthen public education, and drive statewide economic growth. Previously, he served as North Carolina’s longest-serving Attorney General, from 2001 to 2017, building a record of pragmatic, bipartisan leadership. A lifelong public servant from Eastern North Carolina, Cooper holds both a B.A. and J.D. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
