Kim Schrier, Washington

Kim Schrier is a Democratic U.S. Representative serving Washington's 8th Congressional District since 2019 — the first Democrat to represent the district. A University of California, Berkeley graduate with an M.D. from the UC Davis School of Medicine, she practiced as a pediatrician for over a decade before entering politics. In Congress she serves on the Agriculture and Energy and Commerce committees, focusing on healthcare access, lowering prescription drug costs, agricultural policy, and wildfire prevention in her district spanning the eastern suburbs of Seattle across the Cascades to central Washington.
