Congresswoman Laura Gillen represents New York’s 4th District. In 2017, she became the first Democrat elected Hempstead Town Supervisor in more than a century, overseeing a $500 million budget and leading operational reforms. A graduate of Georgetown and NYU Law, Laura began her career in public service as a George Baker Scholar and volunteer during the AIDS crisis. Before Congress, she practiced law and taught as an adjunct professor at Hofstra University. Her priorities include affordability, accountability, and effective local governance that restores trust in public institutions.
