Ritchie Torres is a Democratic U.S. Representative serving New York’s 15th Congressional District since 2021. Raised in public housing in the Bronx by a single mother, he attended New York University before being elected to the New York City Council at age 25, where he chaired the Committee on Public Housing and became a leading voice on tenant protections and LGBTQ+ rights. In Congress he serves on the Financial Services Committee and has focused on affordable housing, combating antisemitism, supporting Israel, fintech regulation, and economic opportunity for working-class communities in the South Bronx.
