Sean McCann, Michigan

Sean McCann, a citizen of the Potawatomi Nation, earned a bachelor's degree in political science from Western Michigan University. He began his public service career with the American Red Cross on disaster relief efforts and served a decade on the Kalamazoo City Commission before his election to the Michigan House of Representatives in 2010. He went on to serve in the Michigan Senate, where he chairs the Energy and Environment Committee and has focused on tax relief for working families, affordable housing, and economic development. Named to the DCCC's Red to Blue program, his priorities include protecting Social Security and Medicare, lowering health care costs, and defending reproductive rights.
