Elaine Luria, Virginia

Elaine Luria is a Democratic former U.S. Representative from Virginia's 2nd Congressional District (2019–2023) and a candidate for Congress in 2026. A U.S. Naval Academy graduate who served 20 years in the Navy, rising to the rank of Commander and deploying six times including tours in the Persian Gulf and Western Pacific, she was one of the first women to serve her entire career in the Navy's nuclear power program. In Congress she served on the Armed Services and Veterans' Affairs committees and on the January 6th Select Committee, focusing on military readiness, veterans' care, and accountability for the attack on the Capitol.
