Shannon Taylor earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Virginia and a law degree from the University of Richmond School of Law. She began her career as a prosecutor in Richmond before serving as a special assistant in the U.S. Attorney's office, and in 2011 was elected Henrico County Commonwealth's Attorney, becoming the first woman to hold the position. Over more than 14 years in the role, she has built a record on public safety, criminal justice reform, and government accountability. Endorsed by Governor Abigail Spanberger and the DCCC's Red to Blue program, her priorities include lowering costs, combating corruption in Washington, and strengthening public safety.
