Mark Warner is a Democratic U.S. Senator from Virginia, serving since 2009 and currently Vice Chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee. A George Washington University graduate with a J.D. from Harvard Law School, he co-founded Columbia Capital, a venture capital firm that invested in early telecommunications companies, becoming one of Virginia’s most successful technology entrepreneurs. He served as Governor of Virginia from 2002 to 2006, where he was named one of America’s five best governors by Time magazine, and in the Senate focuses on technology policy, cybersecurity, fiscal responsibility, and bipartisan governance.
