Janelle Bynum, Oregon

Janelle Bynum is a Democratic U.S. Representative serving Oregon's 5th Congressional District since 2025. A Florida A&M University graduate with an MBA from Portland State University, she founded and ran a small business in Clackamas County and served three terms in the Oregon House of Representatives, where she chaired the Judiciary Committee and led criminal justice reform efforts. In Congress she serves on the Science, Space, and Technology Committee, focusing on small business support, public safety, technology innovation, and expanding economic opportunity in the suburban and rural communities east of Portland.
